Trees and Income

A Visualization of Baltimore’s Tree Canopy and Income Distribution Gap

Baltimore is a unique American city with a very rich history. When presented with the challenge of visualizing something about the city, I came across a program in the city called Tree Baltimore, an effort by the city government to restore the city’s tree canopy by giving residents free trees to plant.

I explored and found a few data sets and chose to visualize each neighborhood’s income with the neighborhoods tree canopy coverage based on 2000 US Census Data. The infographic itself has a bit more of an explanation.
